The Joy of Motherhood

Well today I made it out for half of my errands. In the grocery store my sweet child decided he was bored. So to remedy this he banged his head on the shopping cart and started to cry, very loudly. After 5 minutes I unhooked him and he miraculously calmed down. Apparently he was bored and needed something to do. We make it home and I put him down for a nap. That was not what he wanted. I guess children actually like to eat..whoops! ;-D During lunch I began to perform for him. I sung all of Maria's part from West Side Story and continued with other Broadway leading soprano songs. He LOVED it. It is days like this when I realize I don't need theatre. I have my son! He is the most appreciative audience. If I hit a wrong note, he doesn't care. If I slip and fall on my face, he thinks it is hysterical. Children are the best audience. He should be sleeping by now, not that I am going to check. A watched child never slumbers. I love being a mommy!

Out for the Day

Alex and I spent the day with his grandma and grandpa, my parents. They were so sweet and helpful when they arrived. Alex was thrilled with his grandparents. We went to THAT building. You know the place. The dizzying, grand, oh my gosh where did my cash go building. Yes you guessed it...The MALL!!!! I love malls. I love poking around, spending money, shopping, looking at clothes, buying clothes, trying on overpriced shoes there is no way I will ever afford! I just love that place! We got his pictures taken. He was such a good model. He charmed the photographer and she charmed the pocked book with an incredible deal for pictures. Thank you guys so much! Afterward we wandered around and had lunch. I went to U Food Grill. It is as healthy as fast food can be. Had a mushroom wrap and baked fries. OH SO YUMMY!!!! I was so happy I let grandma give Alex some ice cream! Yeah that won't happen again for awhile. He of course loved it. Back home and waited for Dave to come home. We went to Strings for dinner. Alex has to be the BEST baby ever! Not a lot of fussing and loved everyone's food. I am so thankful for my wonderful parents. They have been such a blessing to my family. I love you both!!!!!!

Boring Weekend....

We are staying home this weekend. Many might find this boring. I am thrilled. I wanted to go see my family, but I realized that I need to spend time my husband and son. Today we went to Taco Tree for dinner and then went grocery shopping. Tomorrow is the Farmer's Market and errands, and Sunday is church. It will be nice to actually take a few days of rest. At dinner Dave prayed how thankful we were to be able to indulge in a simple thing such as fast food. I realized how much I used to take that for granted. We used to eat out a lot. Now that I cook we really don't desire to eat out. Today was a celebration of family and having the funds to pay for it! :-D I pray all of you enjoy your family this weekend.

My New Apron

Photobucket

A New Adventure

I embarked on a new adventure today. I am learning how to sew. It is terrifying and forcing me to do a few things I am not too fond of: slowing down and paying complete attention to detail. I made an apron. It is a start. I would like to start making my own clothes. After a wonderful lunch in Sacramento, Dave Alex, and I went to the mall to return an item. Being me I wanted to cruise the mall a bit. Cruise we did. I looked at clothes and was horrified. There is nothing nice or beautiful about them. Everything is boxy, drab, mannish, and sluttish. I don't understand fashion at all. Why do we wear this ugly clothing? The clothes do not make one beautiful or feminine in the least. I wish there were designers who understood that women need to look feminine. We need to look lovely. That is my main reason for wanting to make my own clothes. I have control over what I wear. I can make myself look lovely for my husband and my family.

Nearly a Decade Later...

We are finally having a reunion for the Actor's Training Program. It looks like classes 99-02 were invited. So far Class of 01 is the only one coming! I will take lots of pictures!!! I am super excited. I haven't seen some of the people coming since we graduated!

Happy New Year

So I decided to start a blog. I like to talk, so I figured this could be fun. Last night Dave and I celebrated the new year with a screaming baby until 11 pm. Then we watched the Princess Bride, indulged in cinnamon rolls, and sparkling cider. After it hit midnight we started our John MacArthur devotion, talked of our hopes for the coming year, and prayed. It was an awesome night. Hope everyone had a healthy safe New Year as well!!!!
